Michael is currently finishing his Bachelors of Science in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics at PPLE College at the University of Amsterdam. He specialises in privacy and intelligence issues from a legal perspective.
He is also an assistant at the University of Amsterdam for the Minor Privacy Studies (Faculty of Humanities) and for the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (Faculty of Science), and is the alumni coordinator for PPLE College (Faculty of Law).
In addition, he works for several NGOs including The Freedom Index and Civil Engagement, which aim to build a global taxonomy system to circumvent standard search engine biases and improve collaboration between business, privacy campaigners and consumer groups respectively.
His current research interests are ethical algorithmic decision making and the future of digital privacy and surveillance.
